About Us

IDS Collections Ltd are instructed by our clients to recover outstanding debts by a number of different company sectors.

Our approach is to discuss the best way to repay the money with the customer, and assist you in repaying the money at an affordable level.

Our collections approach and processes conform to the standards set within the guidelines set by the Office of Fair Trading. We are holders of a Consumer Credit License (Number 608357) which allows us to collect debt and give debt advice.

1. Why have I been contacted by IDS Collections?

Your debt has been passed to us by your original creditor - the company to whom you owe money - for collection. It may be that your payment was late or unpaid, or that another collection agency is no longer handling your account. Your original creditor has a legal right to pass your details to an authorised collection agency in the event of non-payment.You should contact us to discuss this further should you need to.

2. Are interest or charges being added to the balance?

No interest is charged while we are dealing with your account. If we look to pursue the debt through court action, legal fees and costs may be added, but our aim is to work with you so that this does not happen.

3. I can’t pay in full - what can I do?

You need to work out a realistic repayment plan so that you can repay the debt. We will help you to do this, and help you to resolve your difficulties. This may mean your repayments are spread over a longer period.

5. What happens if I can’t pay anything at all or stop paying?

Depending on your circumstances, we may instruct our solicitors to take action to recover the money. It is important that you contact us to discuss this, as we may be able to offer a solution, or speak directly to the creditor on your behalf to explain the situation. We want to work with you to repay the money. 

6. I have already paid my debt in full

7. I have a complaint about the handling of my account - what do I do?

If you have a complaint please call us and we will deal with it in accordance with our official complaints procedure. You complaint will be handled personally by one of our management team and will be acknowledged within 5 working days. We will work on a full response if we cannot deal with your complaint immediately. If you are still not satisfied we will be happy to advise of the next steps which will be escalate your complaint via the FOS scheme.
